YEBO: Training on Intercultural Competencies
YEBO partners from Europe and South Africa are meeting in Bloemfontein from 23rd to 26th October to participate in a series of Workshops on Intercultural Competencies.
During the training session hosted by Central University of Technology the 50 participants will exchange best practices and experiences on the need and impact of having Intercultural Competencies in terms of internationalization of PhD studies. Two full-day workshops will focus on Intercultural Communication and on Multicultural Research Groups Management. The South African partners will send 5 participants and European universities will send 3 participants each. This training session on Intercultural Competencies is the first one in a series of four. The other sessions will be organized in the course of 2019 and 2020, focusing on the set-up and management of doctoral schools, international supervision and research capacity.
Developing Internationalization of PhD studies in South Africa Erasmus+ Capacity building project
This project has been funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union in October 2017. YEBO! is a Capacity Building Project aiming to help with the modernization, the accessibility and the internationalization of higher education in the partners’ countries.
The general objective of YEBO! project is to foster and develop the internationalization of doctoral studies in South Africa.

- to promote the internationalization of PhD studies in South Africa and Europe via 4 conferences.
