VILNIUS TECH hosted conference “Business and Management 2022” and other events of the International Week
On May 9-13, the Faculty of Business Management of VILNIUS TECH hosted the events of the International Week, which were attended by guests from 31 countries. At the beginning of the week, the university welcomed the delegations of three Erasmus+ projects: DERECKA, EMBRACE, and FREE. The projects were presented at the university.
The aim of the DERECKA (Development of Doctoral Education and Research Capacities of Kyrgyzstani Academia) project is strengthening and expanding PhD system in Kyrgyzstan. The EMBRACE project is set to promote Corporate Social Entrepreneurship in HEI educational programmes and improve students’ competences, employability and attitudes contributing to the creation of new business opportunities dealing with social change inside companies. The FREE (Female Academic Role Model Empowerment, Equality and Sustainability at Universities in Mediterranean Region: towards 2030 Agenda) project aims to enhance the role of female academics through increasing the number of women present in decision-making bodies and in academic and management positions.
Participants from the DERECKA project from Kyrgyzstan met to discuss cooperation with the university's Department of Doctoral Studies. Visiting rectors of Kyrgyz universities also met to discuss the possibilities of partnership with the Rector of VILNIUS TECH professor Romualdas Kliukas. Project delegations later participated in other activities of the International Week.
During the week an events of Erasmus+ International Staff Exchange Week “The Making Learning Closer to Reality” took place. Staff of the HEI attended networking events and shared experiences. Foreign universities also participated in an excursion to the Creativity and Innovation Centre “Linkmenų fabrikas”, where workshops “Innovation Management” and “Public speaking in Academia” took place.
The 12th international scientific conference “Business and Management 2022” was held on Thursday and Friday. The main topics of the conference were: Advanced Economic Development, Green Economy and Sustainable Development, Business Technologies and Sustainable Entrepreneurship, New Perspectives on Management and Resilience of Business Organisations, New Challenges and Opportunities of Finance and Investment, and Legal Business Environment.
