VGTU member participated in the Global Education Export seminar in Finland
Vice-Dean for Strategic Partnership of VGTU Faculty of Business Management Agnė Vaiciukevičiūtė visited Haga Helia University of Applied Sciences in Finland where more than 30 international guests from Nepal, Finland, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, France, Malta, Spain, The Netherlands, Estonia, Colombia and Lithuania convened for the International Co-Creation Workshop event from 31 October to 3 November 2016.
The purpose of the event was to bring together international actors and brainstorm new solutions and models for the challenges of education export. At the event, the international partners also had the chance to see the Haaga-Helia campuses and activities in their actual environment and to gain ideas for their own operations while participating in the Global Education Export seminar.
International delegation where invited to participate in the Global Education Export seminar on 2nd of November. Haaga-Helia has been working intensively in education-export for several years. According to them strategy they see future growth mainly in international markets and, therefore, international activities and presence in international markets is very important. In the seminar where covered wide range of important subjects such as: „Strategy as an Enabler of International Growth”, “Finnish Roadmap to Success”, “Building a World Class Education Brand – Case Pearson”, Future of Education Business, Stakeholders Views.
One of the most extraordinary presentations where held by André Noël Chaker who represented the topic: „How to make the impossible possible“. He is a multifaceted expert in the world of business. He has a keen insight into Finnish business life through a foreigner's eyes. He is also the author of the book The Finnish Miracle and knows to tell a story of the competitive advantages of Finland.
A. Vaiciukevičiūtė presented the cooperation opportunities, discussed possible cooperation with Haga Helia University of Applied Sciences Vice President of Commerce Jouni Ahonen. The visit was the beginning of a potential partnership between Haga Helia and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University extending the network of VGTU cooperation and providing exciting opportunities to the students of both universities.
Through education, research and development, Haaga-Helia prepares professionals for business and services. University is part of the Finnish public educational system. It is privately run but steered and co-funded by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture.
