VGTU hosts the 17th colloquium on construction management
On 15 May, the 17th colloquium on construction management “Sustainable decisions in built environment” was held at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU). During the conference the main results of research and cooperation were presented in presentations and on posters.
The colloquia are part of cooperation of three academic centres – Leipzig University of Applied Sciences, Poznan University of Technology and VGTU. The cooperation has started 33 years ago, and the colloquia are biennial events on various topics in the area of construction organised in different country every time. The main goals of this cooperation cover international sharing of experience, discussion of relevant problems, integration into academic community, support for further work and networking.
The first colloquium was held in 1986 when the steering group was formed in Leipzig. The members of this group were prof. K. Fiedler, prof. F. Peldschus (Germany) and prof. E.K. Zavadskas from the then Vilnius Civil Engineering Institute (VISI), now VGTU. Prof. O. Kaplinski joined the steering group during the second colloquium on construction. A publication follows every colloquium.
During 33 years of cooperation the institutions represented by the professors have published scholarly books, among them eight scholarly monographs; over 500 articles have been published in scholarly journals; 72 PhD students have defended their dissertations – among them 36 from Lithuania and their supervisor was prof. E. K. Zavadskas.
