VGTU hosted the visit of the Director of “Bengis Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation” from Israel
On 3-7 June 2019 VGTU hosted the visit of Yosef Shavit, Director of the Bengis Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (Israel). This visit was supported by the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility programme project. This Centre has created unique innovation eco system and runs best acceleration program in the southern region of Israel, aimed at early-stage tech startups. As part of his role in the Center Yosef Shavit is the founder and CEO of Inno-Negev, BGU’s Technology Accelerator, founder of the Innovation Gateway technological hub, co-founder of 4 communities for developers and entrepreneurs, two international open innovation competitions and more. Beside his role at BGU, he is the owner of Yozma (Initiative) Consulting, a business consulting firm which has been delivering high-quality professional services since its foundation in 2005.
Guest speaker shared his unique experience and gave a series of presentations for students, Faculty members as well as startup representatives on promotion of innovation ecosystem and entrepreneurship. The visit was organised in cooperation with Sunrise Valley Science and Technology Park and included visit to VGTU Creativity and Innovation Centre "Linkmenų fabrikas" and Antanas Gustaitis' Aviation Institute, meetings with the Mr Amir Maimon, H. E. Ambassador of Israel to Lithuania and Mr Marius Skuodis, the Vice-Minister of Economy.
Plans for further cooperation of VGTU with BGU and Yosef Shavit were discussed. They include (to mention a few): contributing to the course on startups at Faculty of Business Management, mentoring in hackathon, consultation on building acceleration programme, organisation of entrepreneurial internship for students of VGTU and BGU.
