The Secretary General of NORDTEK visited VILNIUS TECH
Recently, Peter Göranson, Secretary General of NORDTEK (Network of Technical Universities in the Nordic and Baltic countries) visited Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) and met with the Rector Prof. Romualdas Kliukas, Vice-Rector of Strategic Partnership Dr Adas Meškėnas, Director of the International Relations Office Aušra Pelėdienė and Assoc. Prof. Dr Gediminas Blaževičius.
Expressing his position on the activity and development of the network, the Rector Romuladas Kliukas stated that Polish and Ukrainian technical universities could be invited as associate partners, thus helping war-torn Ukrainian universities to maintain the quality of higher education and studies. All proposals from partner institutions will be discussed at the NORDTEK annual conference to be held on 16-18 August 2023 at Aarhus University in Denmark.
VILNIUS TECH joined the NORDTEK network in 2019, together with other Baltic technical universities. In total, this network includes 28 universities in Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden. The first meeting of five partner universities of the NORDTEK network took place in 1946.
“Thank you for an interesting and inspiring meeting and discussion at VILNIUS TECH. I will take it with me in my work with conferences, organisation and management”, said Peter Göranson after the meeting.
