The Department of Biomechanical Engineering invites you to celebrate Biomechanics Day in a unique way
April 5, 2023 is the International Day of Biomechanics, celebrated worldwide since 2016 as "National Biomechanics Day" (https://thebiomechanicsinitiative.org). Biomechanics investigates the broad expanse of biology in the physical world, and it makes substantial contributions to basic biology and physics, medicine and health, human and animal movement and performance, biomedical engineering, prosthetics, and human-machine interactions, among many other endeavors. Biomechanics helps people and improves their quality of life.
Biomechanics science and studies at VILNIUS TECH have been taking place since 1996, when the Department of Biomechanical Engineering was established at the Faculty of Mechanics.
On behalf of the Department of Biomechanical Engineering, we invite everyone to celebrate Biomechanics Day and encourage active participation in the unique activities of the event:
April 5th
April 6th
We look forward to celebrating Biomechanics Day with you. You can register for the open day event here.

On behalf of the Department of Biomechanical Engineering, we invite everyone to celebrate Biomechanics Day and encourage active participation in the unique activities of the event:
April 5th
- QR Hunt: On April 5th, search for a QR code in the joint building of METIF laboratories and learn about #biomechanics or answer a question about #biomechanics. Participate and win #biomechanics prizes.
- Selfie with Sten: Biomechanics star Sten, aka “The Skeleton”, will be waiting for you on the third floor. Share your funny photos on social media and don't forget that Sten likes #biomechanika #biomechanics #vilniustech #nbd2023 and you can also tag @BomechanicsDay
April 6th
- Restore the Calories you burned in the QR Hunt: On April 6th at 1:45 PM, we invite you to join us for some cake to restore the calories you burned.
- Test Biomechanics: Come to the biomechanics laboratory for an open day and measure force, see muscle biosignal, try interactive rehabilitation, and learn about other interesting aspects of biomechanics.
We look forward to celebrating Biomechanics Day with you. You can register for the open day event here.
