The Creative Industries Laboratory invites to spend leisure time at the University
During the traditional Creative Industries‘ Days, a new laboratory with audio and video recording and processing equipment, which could be used even by specialists, has been opened at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU). In the cosy space of the laboratory, students have got all opportunities to use their theoretical knowledge in practice, to gain the skills, necessary for labour market and to implement their own ideas, while spending time at the University.
As planned, informal meetings with professionals in the field and VGTU graduates will be held in the Creative Industries Laboratory: during projects, seminars or workshops, they will exchange experience and encourage students to deal with various issues in a creative way.
"Because of the yearly increase of school graduates, choosing creative or entertainment industries studies, the sector‘s annual growth by five to eight percent has been forecasted. The employers' requirements for the young professionals have been rising at the same time, the key requirements being good knowledge of modern technical equipment and skills while using it", - says Vytenis Mockus, the Head of the Creative Industries Laboratory.
More than half a million Litas have already been invested into the laboratory, a quarter more is being allotted for the setting up of the convenient premises.
In the new VGTU Creative Industries Laboratory, using professional equipment, students will be able to record and process video clips and audio tracks, as well as to be engaged in the development of graphic works, studio photography and design of other media. When tired or lacking new ideas, they will be able to relax in the screening room, with 3D video equipment installed.
The first workshops have already been held in the laboratory, during which VGTU Creative Industries‘ students, while learning how to use the equipment, created a couple of clips – about the activities of people in creative industries and about the experience of the Erasmus students from abroad at VGTU.
