Representative from Kobe University visits VGTU
Representative from Kobe University Dr. Hirotaka Suzuki participated in the Erasmus+ teaching week at the Department of Engineering Graphics at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU).
Friendship with Japanese scientists began in 2010. Later – in 2014 – a cooperation agreement with the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences was signed, which later evolved into a meaningful collaboration within the Erasmus+ framework.
There is a strong emphasis on fundamental sciences at universities of Japan. Specifically, Dr. Hirotaka Suzuki explores the theory of descriptive geometry as applied to architectural and engineering challenges. During his visit, Dr. Hirotaka Suzuki gave lectures to first-year students of Faculty of Architecture and conducted workshops on the topic “Descriptive Geometry for 4 Dimension World”.
The guest met with representatives of VGTU’s International Relations Office, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture prof. Liutauras Nekrošius, Dean of the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences Prof. Rimantas Belevičius and Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Inga Tumasoniene, Head of the Department of Engineering Graphics Assoc. Prof. Daiva Makutėnienė and Head of the Department of Graphic Systems prof. Romualdas Baušys.
Dr. Hirotaka Suzuki is a professor at Kobe University who worked at the Universities of Keio, Osaka. His research area – lighting engineering, computer graphics, descriptive geometry. Currently, he teaches descriptive geometry, lighting theory, environmental architecture at the university. He has received numerous awards for his scientific and methodological activities.
