Orientation days for the international students has started
Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) has launched the traditional Orientation Days for the international students. Nearly 600 students from abroad are starting their exchange semester or degree studies at VGTU this fall.
Warm welcome by the Vice-Rector for Strategic Partnership Asta Radzevičienė marked the opening of the Orientation Days. Fresh international students have been provided with the tips for the successful integration into the University life: pieces of information related with academic and social life presented by the representatives of VGTU International Relations Office, International Studies Centre and Administrator for the accommodation service. These presentations were followed by the information on VGTU Students' Representation and ESN VGTU activities, including social and cultural events scheduled for the fall semester. It has been useful for the fresh students to hear the tips about the public security and public transport service live from the Lithuanian Police Department and the City Communication Service „Susisiekimo paslaugos“ as appropriate.
In the course of 5 orientation days students will have had an opportunity to meet their mentors, Faculty international coordinators, discover Lithuanian history, language and culture, have a guided tour around Vilnius old town, travel to Trakai and join a number of other cultural events including pub quiz and karaoke.
Orientation days will last till 2 September 2018.
