Dennis Sakalauskas is both a successful Senior International Business Executive having held Senior Executive positions for Fortune 500 companies, Pfizer and Medtronic, and an award-winning MBA Lecturer teaching university courses at 2 of Canada’s Top-tier Business Schools at the University of Ottawa’ Telfer School of Management and Queen’s University Smith School of Business. He has worked on multi-million dollar brands at head offices in Boston, Montreal and Ottawa, has led marketing teams for product launches and he has developed business and marketing strategies for blockbuster brands, including Pfhzer’s Celebrex.
Dennis started his corporate career with Boston’s Management Consulting company Putnam Associates (ranked among the top 10 management consulting firms) before moving back to his home country Canada to work on the Pfizer Canada account with Canada’s largest healthcare communications agency and eventually launching his own marketing agency. Currently, he is the CEO and owner of a boutique marketing agency in Canada, DPS Original, which includes work and clients for the National Hockey League Players’ Alumni and Indivior, while also teaching MBA and 4thyear level university courses including Management of Innovation, Strategic Marketing Management, International Marketing and Entrepreneurial Strategies
Dennis holds a Master of International Marketing from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland and a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada.

Understanding Business in Canada:
A Practical View of Canada's Marketplace from one of Canada'a Leading Senior Business Executives
While Canada remains an open, resource-based economy, it is now recognized as an emerging leader in the information and communication technology sector. Progress has been made at diversifying Canada’s industrial base and innovation from a product or service standpoint and also from a marketing standpoint has helped Canadian businesses grow into greater companies and progress to multi-nationallevels.
This seminar will speak directly to conducting business in Canada. Moreover, it will also speak to working with Canadians, marketing and Canada, the tourism industry and brands that have started in Canada and have grown to be international successes. There will be countless opportunities for ongoing discussion between the seminar host and the participants, including case-study exercises.
Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be able to develop an understanding of the cultural, technological, consumer behaviour and general business of Canadian markets. In addition, participants will also apply business and marketing theories and concepts to study the experience Canadian companies who have expanded to international markets.
