New opportunity for VGTU students: double degree in economics
On 21 March 2018 the Department of Economics Engineering of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University signed a double degree agreement with School of Economics and Trade, Kyungpook National University (KNU, South Korea). Students willing to be awarded this type of diplomas should study at least two semesters in the partner institution. Studies in KNU are very popular amongst VGTU students because of the study programme compatibility.
VGTU has had a partnership with KNU since 2013 when the institutions signed the Agreement of Cooperation and in 2015 the Erasmus+ programme interinstituional agreement was signed regarding the mobility.
Double degree studies have different advantages: a possibility to be awarded two Higher Education diplomas during the same period of studies, possibility to work with best international professors and experience different teaching/studying methods. Students also experience social and economic cultural differences, gain intercultural experience and gets a better starting position in the labour market.
The Republic of Korea was included in 2017 into the Roadmap for the EU – Republic of Korea S&T cooperation as a country of high tech, because of its fast economic growth and global integration. Korea is one of the countries participating in Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), it is a network working together to reach the goal of creating a dialogue in cooperation between Asia and Europe.
