„Makeademy“ final critical night next Monday: join
„Makeademy“ – the first makers’ academy in Lithuania is coming to an end. „Makeademy“ is organised by Vilnius Gediminas technical university (VILNIUS TECH) Innovation and creativity centre „LinkMenų fabrikas“ and telecommunication company „Tele2“. On Monday, February 1, the „Makeademy“ finalists will meet at the virtual Final Critical night. During the finals, the makers’ teams will compete for the pool prize worth of 6,000 eur.
Teams participating in the Final Critical night:
• „CCD“ (Cough Check Device) – producing a prototype to help medical professionals to distinguish diseases based on human cough sound parameters using AI.
• „Sunrise“ – developing an IoT solution focused on artificial daylight-induced awakening.
• „BYON“ – creating an innovative computer case to charge a laptop without an electrical outlet.
• „Self-balancing bike“ – addressing the problem of motorcycles’ ability to lose balance.
• „Algy“ – developing an innovative algae aquarium which purifies the air from CO2.
• „Water Shield“ – designing a prototype with the idea to diminish indoor viruses & bacteria by using water.
Due to the situation in the country and limited access to the working spaces of VILNIUS TECH „LinkMenų fabrikas“, on Monday the teams will have to present the digital side of their project. To unlock the prize, the winners will have to finish the physical prototype within 6 months after the quarantine ends.
The members of the jury will be not only the VILNIUS TECH „LinkMenų fabrikas“ specialists but also the professionals from the business world: Adomas Malaiška, CEO of „Volatile AI“, Karolis Mirinavičius, Innovation expert of „Ignitis Group“, and Greta Monstavičė, CEO of „Katalista Ventures“.
The main „Makeademy“ sponsor – „Tele2“, the project’s supporter and prize establisher – „Lemona electronics“. Academy's friends: „Metida“, „Wurth Elektronik“, „InfoEra“ and „Čeli APS“.
We invite the entire VILNIUS TECH community to participate in the event and support the teams.
