Higher Education Fair in India: an Agreement with a new partner
Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) participated at the European Higher Education Fair in India. During the fair in Delhi, Bangalore and Calcutta, our delegation presented VGTU first degree and postgraduate studies, as well as discussed possible contacts with potential partners from Indian high schools.
They agreed to sign an institutional cooperation agreement as well as agreements on exchange of students and teachers, and on visiting professors from India, arriving to Lithuania as early as this spring. They planned cooperation in civil engineering, environmental engineering, transport engineering and IT sectors.
Rimantas Vaitkus, the Vice-Minister of the Lithuanian Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania, Laimonas Talat-Kelpša, the Lithuania‘s Ambassador to India, Asta Radzevičienė, the Vice-Rector for International Relations at VGTU participated at the meeting. Professor Sidh Nath Singh and Professor S. K. Koul, the Executive Rectors and Professor Mukesh Khare, the Dean of Alumni Affairs and International Programs, represented the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. During the meeting, our Lithuanian delegation presented VGTU study and education activities and Lithuanian higher education system with its achievements.
"The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is the institution, according to its activities perfectly well suited for VGTU, so we look forward to productive cooperation in the field of science and education", - said Asta Radzevičienė, the Vice-Rector for International Relations at VGTU.
According to the "2014–2015"QS World University Rankings", the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is on two-hundred-thirty-fifth place, and among Asian universities on thirty-eighth place.
