Henan University of Science and Technology and VGTU held a video conference
Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) and Henan University of Science and Technology (HAUST) held a video conference to strengthen the cooperation between two universities and to discuss the development of joint programme in Civil Engineering aproved by Chinese Ministry of Education.
President Kong Liu'an and Vice President Song Kexing attended the meeting. Responsible comrades from International Cooperation and Exchange Office, School of Civil Engineering, School of Economics, School of International Education, and Network Information Center attended the meeting.
From VGTU side, conference was attended by the VGTU Rector Alfonsas Daniūnas, Vice Rector for Strategic Partnership Asta Rdzevičienė, Director of International Study Center Birutė Tamulaitienė, Dean of the faculty of Business Management Jelena Stankevičienė, Acting dean of faculty of Civil Engineering Jonas Šaparauskas, Vice dean of faculty of Civil Engineering Remigijus Šalna, responsible for join programme preparation and Director of VGTU Beijing China Office Andrew Wong.
Chinese-foreign joint education program of Civil Engineering to be approved my Ministry of Education of China („MoE“), so as to further exchanges and collaboration in the fields of talents cultivation and technological innovation between our two universities.
The plan includes the contents as follows: jointly running and supervising the cooperative program; exchanging faculty members, staff and students; developing other joint degree program like 2+2 Bachelor degree program in such undergraduate majors as Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering and so on, consecutive degree program (HAUST‘s Bachelor degree and VGTU‘s Master degree), and joint Master and Doctorate programs in more disciplinary areas; establishing joint research labs.
Henan province is chosen to be the VGTU's flag-ship in China. It has a population of 109.52 million, 20 universities, 26 private universities, 81 colleges.
Henan province is the birthplace of Shaolin Wushu and Taichi Gongfu. Luoyang (where HAUST is located) was the old capital city of one of China's dynasty.
