Dr. Hirotaka Suzuki from Kobe University delivered lectures at VGTU
Dr. Hirotaka Suzuki from Kobe University (Japan) visited VGTU at the end of October. Professor was delivering lectures, meeting colleagues from VGTU faculties, and visiting the creativity and innovation centre „LinkMenų fabrikas“.
On October 24-27 dr. H. Suzuki was delivering lectures for the students of architecture and creative industries at VGTU. The students were analyzing traditional origami based on drawing geometry rules and making real models during the seminars.
The honorable guest from Kobe University also had a meeting with prof. dr. Romualdas Kliukas (VGTU Vice-Rector for Studies), prof. habil. dr. Rimantas Belevičius (Dean of VGTU Faculty of Fundamental Sciences), Vice-Deans dr. Dovilė Deltuvienė and dr. Inga Tumasonienė, as well as dr. Daiva Makutėnienė (Head of VGTU Engineering Graphics Department). Dr. H. Suzuki also visited VGTU Faculty of Creative Industries and met the Vice-Dean dr. Viktorija Žilinskaite-Vytiene.
Professor discussed the renewal of Erasmus+ agreement between VGTU and Kobe University with Aušra Pelėdienė (Head of International Relations Office), Aleksandra Sokolova (Deputy Head of International Relations Office) and Dovilė Mackevičienė (Institutional Erasmus+ Coordinator). The cooperation of VGTU Faculty of Fundamental Sciences and 3 faculties of Kobe University started in 2010, when the Head of VGTU Engineering Graphics Department dr. Daiva Makutėnienė visited Japan.
The new agreement that is planned to be signed later this year, will allow to increase the cooperation from interfaculty to institutional level and have constant student mobility. During the meeting at IRO the previous experience of Erasmus+ international mobility between the universities was discussed and priorities of student and staff mobilty were set for the upcoming year.
Dr. H. Suzuki was the first professor from Japan to visit VGTU under the Erasmus+ programme.
