Creator of VGTU’s web series wins Best Creator award at Seoul Webfest 2019
An international web series festival “Seoul Webfest” took place in Seoul on 21-23 August. Every year film artists from all continents participate in this festival. A web series Little Incidents created at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University’s (VGTU) Creative Industries television was part of the official festival’s programme and gained international recognition. This web series was nominated in four categories: Best Editing, Best Concept, Best Sketch Comedy and Best Creator. The author of Little Incidents – Aistė Ptakauskė –won the Best Creator award in this festival.
Little Incidents is a situation comedy about two incompatible and quite egocentric young persons who, despite hating each other, must cohabit. The main characters of the series constantly find themselves in paradoxical real-life situations, which gradually lead them to understanding that we learn to understand and accept ourselves through understanding and accepting others. The first season of Little Incidents has eight episodes, which last between one and a half and four minutes.
The Creative Industries television is a project at VGTU’s Laboratory of Creative Technologies. The aim of the project is to educate content creators who are brave, innovative and have global mindset. The second season of the web series is planned and it will be aired next autumn. “This is not the only format we are working on at the television. We will make shows of other formats as well. One of them is a talk show Creative Laboratory, where we will talk with interesting, inspiring and well established creators from Lithuania and other countries. Another project is to create a series about life at VGTU. Also we are thinking about a mini-series, where the plot develops and ends in one season,” Aistė Ptakauskė, the award winning creator of a web series and the head of the Laboratory of Creative Technologies at VGTU, describes future plans.
The premiere of the Lithuanian version of the web series Little Incidents will be on 13 September at 16:30–17:30 p.m. at VGTU’s building in the Old town (room SNR-III 22, entrance from Pylimo str. 26).
