Vilnius Tech Rector's congratulations on the occasion of September 1
Dear members of the faculty, students and all members of our community,
This year the celebration of the Day of Science and Knowledge and the start of an academic year is quite unusual for all of us: we wear masks, keep the distance and do not shake hands. The world has changed. We had to stop to rethink the way we live and work, change our habits.
Nevertheless, we should not fear change. It forces us to leave our comfort zones and discover something new. Lately, our university went through a transformation process, and we address you for the first time with the new name – VILNIUS TECH.
I wish you all an immense thirst for knowledge and patience. I send a special greeting to those who have just started their journey at VGTU. It is a new beginning with new challenges and endless opportunities. I invite you to be active members of the university’s community, nurture your curiosity and stay engaged.
It will be an extraordinary year. Nonetheless, I wish students nurture their passionate knowledge-craving self and seize the possibilities to learn from experts. I wish our academic staff experience again the joy of teaching and working together with students and success in new research and publications. Education and research open countless opportunities for us, we just have to seize them. Stay healthy!
Sincerely
Alfonsas Daniūnas
