VILNIUS TECH contributes to the implementation of the BIM4REN project
Researchers from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUSTECH) contribute to the implementation of the BIM4REN project, during which BIM tools are developed and used during rapid and efficient renovation.
Contribution of VILNIUS TECH scientists
VILNIUS TECH Department of Construction Management and Real Estate in this project will apply intellectual decision support systems and emotional-physiological technologies. A common platform covering visa technologies will also be created so that all users can find everything in one place.
University scientists working on this project focus on decision making, multi-criteria analysis, presentation of renovation scenarios and cost analysis.
Prof. habil. dr. Artūras Kaklauskas notes that the BIM4REN project partners really liked the university's proposals to make BIM closer to people, more reflective of the emotional, social, physiological, psychological and other needs of the population.
Tools developed in the BIM4REN project
The project develops solutions related to the opportunities offered by BIM for the entire construction value chain during the renovation of old buildings to increase energy efficiency.
Contributing to the implementation of BIM4REN, a set of static information modeling tools that are easy to use has been developed for all phases of the project.
The following tools are currently running:
1. Strategic Planning (PROLEPS, 3Btool);
2. Data Acquisition (CAIA-Context-Aware Image Acquisition; UBR-Utility Bill Reader; GIS2IFC; Plans2BIM-Automatic BIM generation frm 2D Plans; Massdoc-Semantic indexing of heterogeneous documents; Short-term FDD - HVAC degradation assessment through fault detection and diagnosis; HVAC2BIM - Automatic BIMification of MEP networks; REACT - Neuro-Questionnaire and system on renovation acceptation; DAGABOT - Automation in Data Gathering for overall assessment);
3. Data-driven Design (BIMSolar PV+T - Early PVT-installation technical and economic analysis; SMACH - Occupant behaviour simulation tool with BIM compatibility; HeatPuRe - Potential Analysis for Installation of HP for Renovation; IES Virtual Environment - Multiphysics evaluation models for design; B-BEST - Building Sustainability Analysis for Environmental Certification; IES HONE - Multicriteria analysis and decision helping tool; Base+ Building Simple Assessment through Energy +</span;);
4. Data Management (LoDLifter -Improving LoI of selected objects; MaestroBot -Data synchronization between BIM Bots; B4R Open Catalogues - Object standardized open catalogues; Feedback Bot - Validation and Feedback Tool; Open BIM services environment -BIM storage, checkers and converters; BIM2BEM -Generating gbXML file from IFC);
5. Support (VRMP - Virtual Retrofit Management Platform; BIMQ -BIM project management; CN-BIM -building Digital Passport Platform)
Excerpt from the list of strategic planning tools from the project website:
Later, everything will be integrated into a common platform, which will show the most suitable tools and services to potential users.
BIM4REN is an H2020 funded project involving 23 partners from ten countries.
