AI in teaching needs thoughtful support for both students and staff
Artificial intelligence is already reshaping higher education—but how can it be meaningfully integrated into engineering studies? NORDTEK President Maarja Kruusmaa says that AI won’t replace educators, but it will change their role, pushing us to rethink how we teach. Meanwhile, university teachers agree: guidelines are helpful, but real support and training are essential.
There are already some great examples. At the University of Stavanger, Alvaro Fernandez Quilez developed an AI course open to all students, while Arne Styve at NTNU introduced AI tools into his programming lectures to encourage critical thinking and reflection.
